Like us, you watch/read/consume the news. The events of 2020 - starting more than 220 days ago with bushfires that ravaged our beloved country - have shaken all of us. In the best and worst of times, we have football - even if only on replays - and we have books. For us, a large part of the pleasure of the Football Writers' Festival is the ability to bring real, face-to-face conversations with passionate football writers and thinkers discussing their books and their work with the very special and niche part of the football community who loves to think, read, write and debate. In our view, there's nothing quite like our game of opinions in real and respectful conversation with real and respectful people (not those who hide behind a social media account). So, in watching how events have unfolded in Victoria since we announced our new dates (in June) for September; and recognising that restrictions associated with travel into, and out of, the 'island' of NSW make it difficult for many; we are re-scheduling once more in 2020 (and for the final time). The new dates? Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2020 in Sydney. We are nothing if not flexible and persistent!
If we can't proceed at that time - and we will make a call on that around four weeks beforehand in October - we will just have to put 2020 behind us and look forward to 2021 and our return to our Jamberoo home. Thanks for your patience and understanding. And all the best to our friends and colleagues in Melbourne and surrounds.
If you have already purchased tickets and can't make the new dates:
We will happily refund you. Please email Katie at sales@fairplaypublishing.com.au and she will arrange your refund. You need to allow up to 14 days for the refund due to the combination of part-time office hours and the time it takes your payment provider to process your refund. P.S. If you have purchased more than one ticket, and know that others in your group will not make it, please let us know also.
